It has been a wonderful weekend- full of friendship, good humour and sunshine. We were so lucky with the weather. The Vintage Nostalgia Show is held in a field, deep in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, so fine weather makes one heck of a difference!
To transport you to back to a time when there was leisure to stroll with your loved one, wear a frilly petticoat, watch Punch and Judy and gasp over the most glamourous of motors, I've turned all black and white...
And the first customers arrived
We could relax
Later in the day we enjoyed some old-fashioned past-times
Emily sang beautifully-
David kept the accounts up-to-date!

When the stand was set up to my liking-

Punch and Judy |
scrumptious icecreams |
climbing trees (well, maybe we only watched this one!) |
And of course... the cars... I'm not really an enthusiast but who could resist these beauties?
We kept ourselves busy. My sister-in-law, Olga and I minded the stall
Sam had his drawing
and his photography
Emily sang beautifully-
David kept the accounts up-to-date!
And took charge of opening the wine.
We had such good fun!
I can't wait for next year's show.
With thanks to Sam for the use of his very cool photographs.

What a fabulous weekend and I love the photos, it all looks perfect, or should I say 'perfick'! Wish I could have been there.

'Perfick' is just the right word Jo- I wish you could have been there too, it would have been such fun to have seen you. Jane xx
DeleteThis looks like a perfectly wonderful day. Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane, it was such fun to be all together sharing the fun Jane xx
DeleteWhat a lovely time you had! Will pop over to Facebook to see it all in glorious colour.
ReplyDeleteOh please do Carol- I was wearing a very cheerful dress with red roses, it was a shame to turn it black and white! Jane xx
DeleteHow lovely - these type of events are very popular though I haven't been to one for years sadly. I will look out for one I think. Looks a lovely family time
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Jenny
Do come next year Jenny- It's a great weekend and I'd love to meet you!Jane xx
DeleteI love those cars and all the attractive clothes people were wearing, and your black and white photos too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed this post- we had such a great time but it was hard to capture the spirit of the weekend ! jane xx
DeleteI read about you in Pretty Nostalgic, a woman who loves old books is a woman after my own heart. I sold antiquarian books via Ebay for a time, but gave up due to lack of decent books to buy! Have been thinking this past six months of getting back to it, but health has been a bit of an issue so not thought seriously. I love the photo of you next to the old Austin Metropolitan... is it yours? I only ask as it was the first car my dearly beloved had, more decades ago than he'd care to recall and you rarely see them.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of black and white photography, it's what I first learnt how to develop and print - though you can't beat colour sometimes.
Great blog, loved the read, thank you.
Maggie, I'm so sorry for not replying earlier. As you will see from my recent post I've been poorly.
DeleteIm so happy to hear from somebody who liked my article. As a book lover and photographer we'd have lots to talk about if we were ever to meet!
Sadly it wasn't my car but what a lovely one, I would have enjoyed a ride in it!
