Last weekend was a thoroughly English event. The Vintage Nostalgia Show at Stockton Park was the perfect cocktail of vintage stalls, cars and that special added ingredient, so rare in England... sunshine!
I had my helpers-
Emily in her favourite boater |
David in his favourite hat |
Everything looked so bright and cheerful in the sun
There were some beautiful stalls
It was especially nice to have Sophie nearby |
And lovely people
Don't our dresses go well together? |
These are some more of my favourite things...
This made David laugh! |
We all entered into the spirit of the weekend, I even had my hair done by a 'travelling hairdresser'
It was a lovely weekend. Although I decided to bring less stock with me next time
At the end of the weekend, by the time we had packed everything in the van and then taken it out again when back at home...
We were only fit to sit in the garden and drink a very large gin and tonic!
Yes, everything looks so bright and sparkling when the sun shines and how stylish you all look in straw hats. They are the very thing to wear on a very hot sunny day: straw hats and gin & tonics - how vintage and how English.

Hello Anna, We did need our straw hats but sadly it looks as if we will need our umbrellas this weekend! Jane xx
DeleteYou look as though you had a great time - doesn't the sun change everything into a pleasure?
ReplyDeleteEverybody was smiling and enjoying themselves, you're right, it does make such a difference! Jane xx
DeleteOh I do love the hats and the traveling hairdresser. All looks like so much fun. And, I too, find a good gin and tonic in the garden a perfect way to end a busy sunny day. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteI think gin and tonic is my favourite drink. It makes me think of home and drinks on the lawn at the end of the day! Jane xx
DeleteOh, this looks like a wonderful time! Packing up is a pain! And so is unpacking. I'm so glad you had a great day, though, and sunshine. Diane
ReplyDeleteP. S. Enjoy the Jubilee.
I don't mind the putting it all together bit I do so dislike the taking it all apart! We're looking forward to the Jubilee and have a street party planned. Jane xx
DeleteIt was lovely to see you and you looked beautiful in that yellow dress xx
ReplyDeleteI was so tired after getting home unloading and putting it all away, i couldn't even speak!! have a lovely party x
Hello Jane!
ReplyDeleteI love all the "bits and pieces" on your stall! I have lots of china (I've run out of space and have to stop myself from buying more.) My husband collects antiques of any kind, so you can imagine...
You had a lovely day... the sun shone for you and... no better way to end a day: a lovely G&T with ice and lime... oh, yes, please! It's my favourite, too! I fancy one right now! But I'll go to bed, instead...
CIAO!
ANNA
Looks like you had some lovely things on your stall and I love that sexy yellow dress you look gorgeous. Very glad the weather was good too - makes such a difference to peoples moods. Hope they hold it again next year so we might get to go as it looked great fun. I enjoyed a very nice gin and tonic in the garden tonight as the grass had been cut and it smelt delicious and its been a very long week. Karen X
ReplyDeleteWell by the look of your photos I would like to have been at this! I find doing stalls at shows VERY tiring (in fact I've only ever done about five) and think I would have needed more than one G & T afterwards. I hope you had a successful day.

Lovely things, but oh that guy in the paper - 'Hypnotise'! He looks a bit like Dracula (not that I've ever met him, mind you). Lovely pretty stuff - just like I like to have in my own cottage - but have to collect slowly as saving money.
ReplyDeleteThe quickest reply and thank you for all your lovely messages. A rather exciting project has come up (I'll tell more later) so I'm rushed off my feet and can't reply properly, as I normally so enjoy doing. Love to you all, Jane xxx
