Artisan Spring Fair

Hooray! Spring is here and with it comes the first of this year's fairs for the Artisans.

This Sunday, April 28th we will all be gathering at the South Newton and Wishford Village Hall

(Just outside Salisbury, Wiltshire on the A36 two miles north of Wilton)

I will have raided my shelves in the love shack-

And hope to make my table tempting!

There are over a dozen stall holders and the fair will run from 11.00am to 4.00pm with FREE ENTRY and a large free car park nearby.
There will be an exciting mix of stalls with fine vintage and ephemera, alongside the handmade and inspirational.
You can find textiles, knit ware, linens, jewellery,paintings, glass and china, photography, home wares and more..

There will be refreshments and delicious homemade cakes available throughout the day.

Oh yes, I ought to mention... I'm bringing along a few books....

Late Summer Artisan Fair this Sunday!





I am happy this sunny morning, as I'm beginning to gather and sort for this Sunday's Artisan Fair. There is a special enjoyment to having a stall at a fair run by friends. This little fair is growing and each time I am surprised and delighted by what I discover there. 

It is to be held on Sunday 16th in the village hall at Middle Woodford, opening at 11.00 am and finishing at 4.00 pm. We are lucky in that the valley is a beautiful one, the village hall has a quirky charm and... there's a car park across the road!

Before I give all the exciting details of the fair and the other stall-holders, I'll just show a few of the pieces I have been putting together...

I have a selection of sweet little baby clothes, brought from a Brocante market in Paris

and many more new bits and pieces I haven't even had time to photograph yet!

Elaine Mairis who has shabby chic, pretty antique & vintage items (furniture, fabric & ornaments) for interior decor.

John Gustard with his lovely collection of art http://www.johngustard.com/ He will be doing quick portraits in Conté Crayon at the Summer Fair. We are hoping he will be able to run some more workshops with The Artisans in the future.

Kiss the Book, Jane the English Booklady, with her lovely books, kitchenalia and lovely decorative objects. Her blog has won an award.

Sky Blue- Anne Marie with her own design Sky Blue hand knitted and handmade items, incorporating vintage fabrics, as well as a selection of other vintage pieces.

Tanya Wadey with handmade rabbits, hair slides & broachs. She will be joined by Imogen and her lovely Limited Edition Lino-cut prints, produced entirely by hand.

John & Sue's delicious vintage inspired cakes & teas are available all day and they will introduce their preserves and homemade produce.


If you are out for lunch with family or friends, in need of inspiration or just curious, you will be made most welcome.
You may wish to combine a day out with Friends & a little inspiration.

Spring Fairs- Spring Cleaning can wait...

It must be Spring, or very nearly so, because the time for Spring Fairs has arrived!

I have put aside any thoughts of housework and been going through old photographs of my stock to try to find the ones which sum up my rather varied collection... My apologies if  you have seen some of these before. It's really hard to choose which ones to put into brochures and on websites.

The first I'm doing is The Jubilee March Fayre, this Saturday 3rd March in the Guild Hall in Salisbury

I hope I've made a good choice of photos. I'm actually planning a slight different theme to each fair, it's much better fun that way but harder to capture using old photographs rather than a picture of what I'm planning to take each time.
I think I had better stop writing about things and actually get on with doing them. There is an awful lot of sorting, labelling and packing to do. I'm so looking forward to these fairs-
 I can truly say - I have a spring in my step!
